Bamber Happy Beads teething necklaces and bracelets are made for wearing Not Chewing. As a safety feature, the string in each of our amber teething necklaces and bracelets is knotted by hand in between each and every bead. So should the necklace or bracelet break (which it should if necessary), the beads will not scatter. The teething necklaces and bracelets are secured with a traditional screw clasp, not a hook and ring,(which can irritate the skin) The beads are also very light, rounded and comfortable for bub to wear. In the event that a bead is accidentally swallowed, Amber is a non toxic natural substance.
The necklace can be worn in the bath, or swimming, however, we do recommend taking the necklace off before bathing or swimming, as prolonged water exposure will cause the cotton thread to become brittle over time.

Amber teething necklaces are made for wearing, not chewing. If your child does start to chew the necklace,
Amber is non toxic and will not harm an infant. It is advised that you use other teething aids designed to meet the infants increasing need to chew,(Please see our CHEWING GUMS range) or use teething rusks, wet face cloths or chewing teethers.
The choice is yours. Though we do recommend the bracelet for younger babies and the necklace, or necklace/bracelet combination for children 3 months and over. Some parents have felt more comfortable starting their very young babies with a bracelet, then progressing to a necklace as the baby grows. Some parents will use the necklace while the baby is awake, then use the bracelet (as either a bracelet or anklet) tucked beneath clothes while the child is sleeping. (always under supervision!) Other parents will use the necklace both as a necklace and then a double wrapped anklet/bracelet. Which ever option you choose,Bamber Happy Beads Authentic Baltic Amber naturally contains Succinic Acid. In the Dominican Republic, the tree is Hyemnaea (a leguminous trees). Most modern legumes are smaller plants that have nodules in the roots which contain bacteria that puts nitrogen back into the soil. Modern day legume trees are common in South America.
In the Baltic area, millions of years ago, either pine trees or eucalyptus (gum) trees probably produced the resin that turned into amber.
Resin from either of these types of trees, when placed in the proper conditions, turns into amber. There is an intermediate stage where the resin might look like amber, but is not changed enough (polymerized) to be considered real amber. This ‘young’ resin is called copal. Copal is always much younger than amber and has some characteristics which distinguish it from real amber. For instance, copal is generally less dense than amber.
Succinic acid ( pronunciation: [sək-ˈsi-nik ˈa-səd]; IUPACsystematic name: butanedioic acid; historically known as spirit of amber) is a dicarboxylic acid. Succinate plays a biochemical role in the citric acid cycle. The name derives from Latin succinum, meaning amber, from which the acid may be obtained.
